Weather Intelligence
In development

Weather alerts.
On your terms.

Official weather alerts, radar and daily outlooks for Home Assistant. Choose the notifications that matter to you at home, on the road, or out on the water.

What it does

Official alerts and radar
Follow National Weather Service warnings, watches and advisories, with radar and warning areas on the map.
At home and away
Use your Home Assistant home zone and enrolled devices to keep alerts relevant as your location changes.
Your alerts, your quiet hours
Choose alert types, review Do Not Disturb exceptions and get an optional daily outlook.
Marine alerts
Marine alerts and adjustable nearby notices use available water maps and charted connections. This feature is in an early state.
A heads up when a source has trouble
An optional shared outage network checks NWS alert feed failures and delays of five minutes or more, with independent checks before confirming a shared problem.
Device settings
Save and copy device settings, edit alerts by hazard, and receive a notice naming the administrator when they set up or change your settings.

Your privacy

Your settings and alert decisions live in your Home Assistant. Automatic error reporting is off until an administrator agrees. Those reports exclude names, coordinates, IP addresses, serial numbers and raw logs. Outage contributions have their own choice, and local reporting history shows exactly what was prepared for sending and whether it was accepted.

A few details worth knowing

Weather and map providers receive the location or area needed for their services. Phone alerts use Home Assistant and the phone platform’s notification services. Cloudflare processes connection IP addresses when handling project reports.

Optional outage contributions use a random installation number to link source failures, delays and recoveries. That makes them pseudonymous, not completely anonymous. The number is not added to ordinary error reports. Reporting records are kept for 30 days. You can receive outage notices without contributing reports.

Manual feedback is separate from automatic reporting. You review the message and software details before sending. Please do not include personal information in your message.

Why I’m building it

I wanted useful weather alerts without a phone that goes off for everything. Support for this project helps with testing, fixing bugs and the time it takes to keep improving it.

Marine notifications are in an early state and need more testing. Weather Intelligence supplements official warnings. Keep other warning sources available and follow local instructions.
